Senior Speech Therapist

Alexa is a fully registered Speech-Language Therapist and a clinical supervisor under the Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore. After being awarded the Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH) Health Science Scholarship in 2010, she went on to obtain her Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Prior to joining AST, Alexa has had extensive experience with the paediatric population, having dedicated several years to her profession at KK Women and Children’s Hospital. Specialising in outpatient communication clinics, she has honed her expertise in working with children, together with their families, with a diverse range of speech, language and communication disorders and/or difficulties.

In her role, Alexa conducts individual assessments and therapy sessions, tailoring her evidence-based approach to the unique needs of each child under her care. Beyond individual sessions, Alexa has planned and led language group therapy as well as trans-disciplinary social skills groups, collaborating seamlessly with Occupational Therapists to meet the needs of each child. Her proficiency extends to collaborating with key stakeholders in a child’s care journey, including medical professionals, allied educators, teachers and fellow allied health professionals to ensure holistic and personalised support for children with communication challenges.

Alexa’s commitment to the profession goes beyond patient care to clinical education. She has actively contributed to the development of future professionals, providing valuable insights and guidance to NUS students and new staff at the hospital.
