Jasmine Goh
Principal Occupational Therapist
As an occupational therapist (OT), Jasmine believes in being the cheerleader for her clients during their recovery to regain autonomy and dignity in their lives.
She would emphasise on clients engaging in self-practice and activities of interest alongside with collaborating with clients’ families and other healthcare professionals and to achieve therapy goals. This would in turn improve the clients’ quality of life. Besides clinical work, Jasmine also enjoys nurturing students during their clinical placements and is keen to guide newer and younger therapists in their professional development.
Currently, Jasmine is fully registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) in Singapore. She started her professional journey at a local community hospital then transiting to day rehabilitation and home therapy setting. Jasmine is experienced working with the geriatric population with complex medical conditions through physical, cognitive and psychosocial interventions. Her expertise covers different medical conditions, such as neurology, orthopaedics and dementia.
She is especially passionate in working with persons with dementia and had experience working in the dementia ward at a community hospital for almost 2 years. She had also presented during in-service on the topic of namaste care and co-worked on a project to streamline the workflow when seeing persons with dementia to ensure high quality of care provided at the community level.
Jasmine continued to develop her proficiency by translating skills and knowledge taught to clients in institution and organisation back to their homes and community. As the saying goes, “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” Her desire as an OT is to equip clients and their loved ones with knowledge and abilities to live meaningfully and gracefully.
