Jessica earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Columbia University (New York City, USA). She completed her Clinical Fellowship (CF) under the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), a nationally recognized American professional credential, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
Jessica has a clinical interest in the assessment and treatment of young children with speech-language delays and Autism Spectrum Disorders. In order to achieve successful therapy outcomes, she believes in developing a nurturing relationship with each child and his/her family, and strongly believes in active parent involvement in therapy sessions. Jessica uses engaging and fun activities that are meaningful to each particular child to motivate and empower them to be effective communicators. She incorporates music into her therapy sessions at times to develop pre-linguistic skills, such as engagement and shared attention.
Jessica has ten years of experience working with children with speech-language delays and disorders. She stays up-to-date with evidence-based practices and current research studies in order to incorporate best practices into her therapy sessions. Jessica has attended trainings on Hanen’s It Takes Two To Talk and More Than Words, DIR Floortime, PROMPT technique, and Learn To Play.
Jessica is fluent in English, and conversant in Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia. She is also a mother of three, which she believes makes her a more empathetic clinician.
