RACHAEL MAGDELENE

Head of Programme (Early Intervention) and Senior Educational Therapist

Rachael have had the honour of working with children with learning differences and complex needs for more than 12 years. Her previous experiences also include several lead roles in government special education and private early intervention centres.

Her lead role positions have provided her opportunities for curriculum planning and development that caters to the needs of the children, and given her responsibility for a team.

Much of her career experiences has also involved working closely with other disciplines, enabling her to have an in-depth understanding, and respect, for the roles of different professionals. This has solidified her belief that, when children have diverse and complex needs, a multidisciplinary approach helps to make sure that all of the child’s needs are being met. She trusts that parents are is an important part of the team and their knowledge, and feedback, is crucial when planning individual educational profiles, in order to identify holistic goals that support a child’s learning across all environments.

As the Head of Programme for Headstart for Life @ Novena and a hands-on educational therapist, Rachael is certain in following an ethical, respectful, and a collaborative approach to reach the best interest of the students. Together with the team, she also looks forward to focus on the students’ academic potential, emotional wellbeing, and maximising their aptitude to get them ready for either a Mainstream or a Special Education School.
