Tan Ruiyun

Senior Speech Therapist

Ruiyun is a Speech and Language Therapist with extensive experience supporting both children and adults across hospital, community, and educational settings in Singapore, Australia and Canada.

She has worked with clients of all ages in areas such as speech and language delays, stuttering, swallowing difficulties, and communication support for neurological conditions.

Ruiyun takes a person-centred and neurodiversity-affirming approach, working closely with caregivers and tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs, interests, and goals. She builds strong, trusting relationships with families and always looks for the spark – what makes a person light up – whether it’s through a favourite book, song, or shared laugh. She has a special interest in accessible communication and has led hospital-wide initiatives, including the development of patient education materials and a guide on modifying Singapore hawker food for safe swallowing—now used publicly across Singapore.

She is an AHPC-registered clinical supervisor and enjoys mentoring new clinicians. Outside of work, she is a passionate language learner (currently onto her 4th language, French!), an avid reader, and a mum who loves discovering children’s books with her toddler.
