Senior Occupational Therapist

Elyssa is a fully registered Occupational Therapist (OT) and clinical supervisor with the Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore. She started her professional journey at Changi General Hospital (CGH) gaining experience working in an acute hospital and rehabilitation settings.

Elyssa is experienced in working with adult clients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions, providing both physical rehabilitation and psychosocial interventions. Her expertise extends across various medical disciplines, such as General Medicine, Orthopedics, Respiratory, Cardiology, Neurology and Psychological Medicine.

She is particularly passionate about Child and Adolescent Mental Health and has conducted workshops on topics like emotional regulation and self-care for school students in Singapore.

As an OT, she believes in collaborating with other healthcare professionals and the client’s families to help achieve therapy goals and enable her clients to participate in activities that are meaningful to them. Besides clinical work, Elyssa also enjoys nurturing the next generation of OTs, which propelled her to also take on the role of clinical educator for occupational therapy students from SIT.

After she left CGH, Elyssa continued to develop her proficiency in a paediatric clinic delivering person-centered therapy to paediatric clients with developmental issues like ASD, ADHD, GDD and sensory processing difficulties. She believes in utilizing various modalities and tailoring her approaches according to her client’s unique personalities and interests to achieve goals related to handwriting, emotional regulation and activities of daily living.

Elyssa believes that every one of her clients are resourceful and resilient in overcoming their challenges. She utilizes a strengths based approach in all her sessions, and seeks to understand and create a safe environment where her clients are able to discover and learn new skills.
