Boey Ying

Principal Speech Therapist

Boey is a fully-registered Speech and Language Therapist specialising in swallowing and communication management for the adult and geriatric population.

With years of experience in the acute hospital and Intermediate and Long-Term Care (ILTC) settings, Boey brings clinical background in treating complex swallowing and communication disorders from across various medical disciplines. Her areas of specialisation include neurorehabilitation, as well as Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) voice therapy. Being a Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)-trained clinician, she is quite the geek about the mechanics of swallowing and believes that being able to eat and drink well is fundamental to quality of life.

Boey’s approach to rehabilitation is client-centred yet evidence-based and tailored to each individual’s needs. She believes in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where clients and their loved ones feel empowered throughout their therapy journey. Above and beyond all, she believes in multi-disciplinary care and working closely with fellow healthcare professionals to meet all-rounded functional goals.

Her work extends beyond the clinic, as she values lifelong continuity of education and actively conducts clinical training, cross-disciplinary in-services and courses, and public education talks.

In her time off work, Boey trains for competitive kettlebell sport, and frequents indoor spin and HIIT classes. Healthy body, healthy mind!
